A variable, climbing plant related to lilies, from areas of Mexico to Argentina. The stems grow from a tuber & produce glossy oval leaves & large clusters of pink to red, bell-shaped flowers spotted yellow inside. Likes a lightly shaded position. Can reach 4m but is deciduous, so starts nice & fresh again in spring. Looks good winding its way up a frame on top of a pot or perhaps up a small tree. Likes a well-drained soil.
