Native to damp areas of Eastern United States. The vanilla scented white hooded flowers form a twisted pattern held on upright strong stems above strappy green leaves in late summer here. Grows in a soil that can stay moist or put in a pot with a water bowl underneath. It grows naturally in a boggy area but is just as happy in an area lightly shaded that does not dry out. Dies back in winter & appears again in spring. Will very gently seed to make an attractive display. Height 50cm. Flowering size.
